Meet Our Staff
Campus Minister
After working for a year as a fundraiser, J.R. began sensing his
call to campus ministry. Shortly thereafter, he entered Reformed
Theological Seminary (RTS) in Charlotte, NC, graduating in 1999 with a
M. Div. Since seminary graduation, J.R. was ordained in the
Presbyterian Church in America and served as the RUF campus minister at
Florida State University for five years before leaving to begin the RUF
work at Virginia Tech in Fall 2004.
He is married to the former Eliza Pender of Columbia, SC, whom he met while they were both at Clemson. J.R. and Eliza are also the parents of two sons and a daughter.
If you have any questions related to RUF, contact J.R. at jfoster(at)ruf(dot)org. Forgive the coded email address, but writing it that way reduces the spam I receive.
Interns
Beginning her second year as an intern, Mary
Katherine Dempsey is a graduate of Delta
State University in Cleveland, MS, where she earned her degree in
Mathematics in addition to being involved with RUF.

Born in Jackson, MS and raised in Washington, MO, Mary Katherine's family now resides in Ft Payne, AL, where her father is the pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church.
